Ok, so first off I have to say that THIS ANTHOLOGY IS AMAZING I have only read two or three anthologies ever and this is making me kick myself in the a for that Each story is so good that I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens next 24 dark stories that all have a paranormal aspect to them, from faeries to ghosts to vampires to shifters I give the anthology as a whole a 4.5 out of 5 Now for my individual assessments Ok, so first off I have to say that THIS ANTHOLOGY IS AMAZING I have only read two or three anthologies ever and this is making me kick myself in the a for that give the anthology as a whole a 4.5 out of 5 Now for my individual assessments Headless Homecoming by Andrew Katz 3.5 out of 5I found this story very enjoyable King Arthur based stories have always interested me, and Katz does a splendid job of making the story funny and adventurous I don t want to share any spoilers, so I ll just describe the story The MC meets the head of the headless horseman, which comes to life He proceeds to punch it in the face, and the head s body is coming to the castle to reclaim its head.Scarlet Night by Megan J Parker 4 out of 5This was one of my favorites It was very short, and left off in a cliff hanger At first I was slightly confused it starts off with the main girl being attacked by a vampire, and afterwards she meets her ghost lover and he takes over the other vampire s body, and they ahem do things But the way it is written drew me in and made me want to readEmpty the Bones by Char Hardin 3 out of 5Frustrating Enraging Betrayal was the main point of this story Buried alive, a girl watches as her sister and fiance consolidate each other, although it s so muchShe discovers that her sister and fiance worked together in an attempt to murder her And it worked A little religion, and a couple angels help to exact revenge, and a shocking ending adds the finishing touch.Whispers from the Darkness by Jana Boskey 2.5 out of 5For some reason I didn t find this story as good as the others I sluggishly read my way through it, and it was probably the slowest part I read during the entire anthology This was the first story that had to do with the Fae and it just didn t draw me in It s about the queen of the unseelie finally coming of age and being taken to her kingdom, where she has to realize who she really is.A Full Wolf Moon by L.D Ricard 3 5This was a refreshment I love shifters, almost as much as vampires The story revolves around a pack of wolf shifters, who are attacked by a Windigo, or a phantom beast The only place I had ever heard of this creature before, was on Supernatural So I kept picturing Dean and Sam in their smexy clothes killing it But other than that it was a pretty nice shifter story, with great writing His First Snow by Linna Drehmel 2 5I really liked the way this one was written, but I didn t get into the story very well An angel type figure is to find a gift for his Master, and stops a fight while looking, and also sees his first snow Good but wasn t one of my favs.Dementria s Task by Amanda Browning 3.5 out of 5Demons, a new concept finally Actually, this story reminded me of Initation by Imogen Rose a little bit The demon s were given a mission, and if they passed it they could become full demons, but if they didn t.well let s just say it s hell Tria as she s called follows a young college girl, slowly driving her mad It s interesting to see the girl unraveling piece by pieceBlood and Soil by William Greer 4 5Great A vampire story about a couple living in Germany, when a major in the SS comes looking for missing workers Lena doesn t want to leave, so she uses a new vampire child to kill the major s family, when others attack her, her and Ferdinand are forced to leave. The Darkon Prophecy by Linna Drehmel 3 5Short, but good I liked the idea behind this one A newly wedded couple break apart when on their wedding night, the wife reveals her Darkon heritage, and turns her new husband Running away, he comes upon an enemy, and faces his true purpose Enthralling and action packed The Faery Hunt by Alexia Purdy 4.5 out of 5Alexia is such a great writer I absolutely couldn t set my Kindle down when reading this one The characters all seemed badass and it was action packed The characters were hunting fairies, but in the end, it goes wrong and one is taken Amazing Breakdown by Bonnie Bernard 3.5 out of 5Very interesting Very interesting indeed A girl gets a ride with a guy, they go to a hotel and do things And in the end it s so weird I wish there wasto this story Ouija ust Wanted to Have Fun by Dominique Goodall 1.5 out of 5A group of teens use an ouija board in an abandoned, haunted house A malevolent spirit appears and they run Payment comes a few years later Weird, and I didn t get into this one Wasn t my thing I guess.Ghost Reapers by Rebecca Gober 5 5A.M.A.Z.I.N.G I want a series about this It was a great concept, and well written I loved Chance and Austin They were such enigmatic characters They re the kind that get into your heart, and you love them You love reading about them and can t wait to hearabout them They are being chased by ghost reapers, people who want their powers for their own That s all I m sayin Read it Death Becomes Him by M.R Murphy 5 5ANOTHER O.H M.Y G.O.S.H I loved this one also It was so sad and had me missing my own boyfriend It was sad and heartfelt, and I loved the entire thing When Jason is killed in a scuffle, his girlfriends world is torn apart, but he comes back as a ghost two months later, and follows her around Why is he back To protect her from the men that killed him So awesome Dark Fairy Reflection by S.J Thomas 2.5 out of 5This one was pretty short, and had some fae lore in it It wasn t very well written in my opinion, and I didn t quite feel a good connection with the character, but I liked the idea and the ending A young girl inherits her aunt s estate after her untimely death She discovers what killed her aunt, but will she succumb to it also Spider Whisperer by Lisa Goldman 3 5Two sisters are cleaning out the shed in their father s backyard He passed away and they are looking for things that he could of left them Mia is afraid of spiders desperately and they seem to be everywhere They go meet a mysterious Spider Whisperer who may or may not help them..Pretty interesting plot, very weird in the end Likeable. The Kiss by Jenny Phillips 3 5Thrilling That s the word I d use to describe this story Ella is followed by a guy who informs her that she is a Succubus A demon that thrives on passion and eats peoples souls Not trusting him, they run throughout the city fighting until midnight When she gains her powers.Very enthralling and good story Goddess of Death by John Hansen 2 5It seems that I have gotten past the amazing ones, and gone to the not good not bad ones This story was about a brother and sister who were being chased by demons It wasn t a very new idea, or didn t surprise me any But it was written alright. The Flaming Vengeance by Linna Drehmel 3.5 out of 5I actually liked this concept, but didn t like the way it was written Tanya and her sister are the last of their family and when one of them is lost, the other must exact revenge and become the Protector Pretty good, I enjoyed it and liked the ending. The Miller s Daughter by Stefan Ellery 3 5Painting on buildings, and creating your own art have always fascinated me I can t see how some people can create such amazing pieces I can t draw at all and that was my favorite part of this story It also involves a ghost Well written and intriguing in its artisticness. The Transformation by Ruth Barrett 1.5 out of 5Maybe I m missing something, but I did not understand this story at all It didn t draw me in, and I didnt understand the ending at all At the beginning it seemed okay, but by the end I was so lost Open Your Eyes and See by Naomi Bonthrone 1 5This one was boring and I really didn t like the way it was written It was weird and I don t even know how to explain what it was about.First Boy by Dennis Sharpe 3.5 out of 5Creepy A cop goes to a house and finds a girl and boy there He assumes they have been abused and tries to get them to pack up and leave The boy talks of their Father and the girl says nothing at all.I liked this one, although I didn t like how it ended.Alba by K.R Jordan 4 5Another werewolf one Great I loved it and it was kind of weird and brutal but still good She falls for a guy who in the end is a werewolf and the following twist of events leave you breathless

It never fails that when I see Alexia Purdy s name attached to a book, I instantly want to read it She never disappoints me This has many different horror stories that have the endings of things not going so well for the main characters in this book I wouldn t suggest reading this before bedtime if you are known for having nightmares after a scary read because this might induce them It was nice to see so many authors get together and write these stories.

MY REVIEWIt s always difficult to know the best way to review anthologies, do you review the individual stories or the book as a whole or even both Well here s my version, first the anthology as a whole, I really enjoyed and would definitely recommend the anthology is a great way to try authors you may not have read before There were a few of the stories I didn t like that I thought leant too much towards a horror theme for my personal liking I did however, enjoy well over half of the storie MY REVIEWIt s always difficult to know the best way to review anthologies, do you review the individual stories or the book as a whole or even both Well here s my version, first the anthology as a whole, I really enjoyed and would definitely recommend the anthology is a great way to try authors you may not have read before There were a few of the stories I didn t like that I thought leant too much towards a horror theme for my personal liking I did however, enjoy well over half of the stories The anthology is well put together and I think has something for most people. To review the individual stories novellas I have decided to rate each of them out of 5 I would look at other books by the majority of the authors in the anthology, thougheagerly at some than others I will admit to being a hard scorer in that i don t give a 5 5 unless i absolutely love the book.Headless Homecoming by Andrew Katz Initially the title put me off as I don t really like the knights of the round table type of stories but this was okay, once you got into it The low score isa personal taste issue than how the story was written Would I pick up a full length novel by this author..er..em maybe So it s 2 5A Scarlet Night by Megan J Parker This was a classic Vampire type story, with a different twist on it that I did enjoy I liked how this story flowed, loved how the author wrote.Would definitely look at other books by Megan J Parker So it s 3 5The Bones For You by Char Hardin This one was really different, being buried alive, though it also had a religious edge to it I don t normally go for things with lots of religious content reference in it but, I did enjoy this I would look at other titles by Char Hardin So it s 3 5Whispers From The Darkness by Jana Boskey This had references to the true life mate concept, and fae myths which was good mixture I really enjoyed this one and definitely will be searching out other books by Jana Boskey so its 4 5The Faery Hunt by Alexia Purdy This one involves the Fae again, its well written It has one of the characters making a sacrifice to save her brothershmm I wanted to readof it really I already have another full length title by Alexia Purdy on my kindle to read and review So it s 4 5Breakdown by Bonnie Bernard I don t want to give away too much with this one It s very well written and I really did enjoy reading this one Definitely on the look out forby Bonnie Bernard It s 4 5The Full Wolf Moon by LD Ricard As suggested by the title this one is a werewolf story The life mate concept is mentioned in this story as is the pack concept Again, yes I enjoyed it, but I wanted to readandSo LD Ricard is firmly on my authors to watch out for list It s 5 5His First Snow by Linna Drehmel An angel type story A tale from the light It had a moral hidden in there too A good short tale really, difficult to saywithout telling the whole tale Yes I will take a look atLinna Drehmel book as I enjoyed her style of writing It s a 3 5Dementria s Task by Amanda Browning This tale has demons Again difficult to say much without giving too much away It s Eerily good Another author on my look out for list Definitely want to readby Amanda So 4 5Blood And Soil by William Greer This is really is a good suspense tale.it does have Nazi soldiers in it too and is set at the time of oppression and war I enjoyed the suspense, the oh no what will happen now aspect of the tale Would considerbooks by William Greer It s a 4 5The Darkon Prophecy by Linna Drehmel This one is a tale from the dark Again I enjoyed Linna s writing style which makes the tales so easy to read Another 3 5Death Becomes Him by MR Murphy This tale concerns the living impaired A guy that has not passed on He was in the wrong place at the wrong time He has to protect the women he loves A brilliant tale, loved it Wanted to readLooking out forMR Murphy It s 5 5Dark Faery Reflection by S J Thomas This tale is eerily, creepy, maybe leaning a little to the horror genre as well as including the fae elements of the tale too I did like reading this even though I would say I do not read horror Would considertitles by S J Thomas so long as they weren t horror So 2 5Spider Whisperer by Lisa Goldman Another one that had lots of horror type elements in the tale I read it okay It was a bit spooky and creepy, not really my type Would I readby Lisa maybe 2 5The Kiss by Jenny Phillips a girl learns her true identity of a succubusA strange man she s never met offers her help, should she trust him It was okay, the ending was the best really this could be a spin off novella There could be a series of books about the succubus those I would like to read So looking out for Jenny Phillips Yes 3 5Goddess Of Death by John Hansen Another Demons tale This one about demon possession, and demon masters Okay tale but not really my type of thing Would give othe titles by John Hansen a look over So 2 5The Flaming Vengeance by Linna Drehmel This is an unusual tale of a prophecy Would love this to be a novella so I could readabout the green eyed one Linna is definiitely on my watch out for list It s a 2 5 for this one.The Miller s Daughter by Stefan Ellery Oooo Spooooky, a ghost haunting tale A bit leaning to horror again though I did like this one too Good short tale Readby Stefan Ellery Would take a look So 3 5The Transformation by Ruth Barrett I wasn t at all sure on this one , a bit odd for me Would I tryby this author dunno, probably not It s 1 5Open Your eyes and See by Naomi Bonthrone Again a bit odd and weird for mesorry another dunno, probably not on readingby this author So 1 5First Boy by Dennis Harpe This one ishorror, I don t like horror It is very well written though.Readby Dennis sorry not if horror So 1 5Alba by KR Jordan This one, I also did not get along with It felt very Americanised to me, so not been American, perhaps I missed some of the points being made Readby KR Jordan probably not So it s a 1 5.And a Score out of 5 for the whole anthologyhmmmm would have to say 4 5 I have certainly found some authors that I would like to readof
